PINEVILLE, La. – Chief Warrant Officer 5 Kim Janneck, the command chief warrant officer of the Louisiana National Guard, walks down a street in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Janneck, a life-long resident of New Orleans, was greatly impacted by the storm that destroyed all of her family members’ homes. Janneck will retire this Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, with more than 27 years of service in the Louisiana National Guard and 36 years of federal civilian service.
